Finest Hour - Card Number 3: Princess Celestia
Twilight and her friends were waiting outside the throne room the following day, after some well deserved, and much needed, rest. Celestia had called for a meeting almost immediately after they had entered Canterlot.
“Do you think she has forgotten us? We don’t have time for this, we should be out there. We should be there defending our home.”
As usually Rainbow Dash did not like to wait, but this time it was fully justified. They really had to do something. Twilight was quick to defend her mentor.
“She would never forget us. But with all that is going on now, she must be exhausted beyond… Oh, wait, there she is.”
Princess Celestia, flanked by her sister Luna and Zecora, walked into the hall from a corridor leading to one of the towers. Celestia looked horribly tired, almost grey and her mane was mattered and colorless, her eyes filled with both sorrow and exhaustion. Her sister looked almost as bad, and even Zecora looked like she had seen better days.
“I… Sorry to keep you waiting. This way, please, we won’t be having the meeting in the throne room.”
They quickly followed her, as she guided them into the very same corridor she just came from, leading them to one of the castle’s towers.
