Finest Hour - Card Number 26: Octavia's Masterpiece
They walked past a doorway, leading into a big concert hall. A single grey pony stood on the stage, playing a cello with absolute mastery. Twilight was sure she had seen her before, but could not place her immediately.
“Not to be blunt, Celestia, but what good does this do? The music is beautiful, but why?”
Celestia smiled at Twilight.
“It is Octavia, one of our best musicians. She has written a lullaby, and is convinced that is she plays it well enough, she can make any creature fall asleep at will. It might not seem likely, but the music also gives some much needed spirit among the others here in Canterlot.”
They stood there for some time, admiring the music. Octavia did not pay them any notice; she was completely absorbed in her music. But loud, unexpected noise from the opposite end of the hall caused her to completely lose her focus.
